Montenegro Airlines, a former national carrier, has leased space at Serbia’s main airport, where it will maintain the Embraer E195 and Fokker 100 aircraft. The bankrupt airline plans to start maintaining aircraft routes at Nikola Tesla Airport.
The Bankruptcy Trustee will submit a request to the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia, to issue the company the necessary license for further operation. Montenegro Airlines has all the necessary equipment for the maintenance of airlines. The company emphasized that they are already negotiating with several potential clients.
Montenegro Airlines was shut down on December 25 last year, when the state declared that the mentioned airline could not financially sustain its further functioning. Bankruptcy was declared, and a new national airline was soon formed.
Montenegro Airlines hopes that its headquarters in Belgrade, it will improve its financial situation and future business in general.
